Submission Guidelines
Authorship:
- For one to claim authorship, s/he must have substantively contributed from the outset in the design of the study, analysis and interpretation of data, drafting or substantive redaction of the manuscript, and ultimate endorsement of the version to be published.
- There is the corresponding author who is also largely the primary writer who is responsible for all aspects of publication, including the accuracy of the data, guaranteeing that no deserving author is neglected, and the approval of the final draft by all authors.
- Artificial intelligence should not be used to create content or acknowledged as an author.
Submission of Manuscripts:
- Requirements: Manuscripts should be submitted online using the link: https://journals.cut.ac.zw/index.php/jchd/about/submissions. Authors should register an account to be able to submit a manuscript. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts have not been published before (except as an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis), are not presently being processed elsewhere, and do not breach any copyright.
- Ethical Standards: All submissions must abide by ethical standards, with the submission and publication being agreed upon by all co-authors, and any funders as well as responsible authorities that may have contributed to the research that led to the production of the manuscript should be acknowledged.
- All submissions will be checked for plagiarism, and it is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism.
Changes in Authorship:
- Procedure: In the event of the need for authorship change, the corresponding author must send a direct mail requesting the change.
- In case of unresolved authorship disputes, authors should resolve their misunderstanding by asking for their institution’s intervention (if necessary), and that decision becomes binding.
Acknowledgements:
- Contributors: All contributors who are not authors should be acknowledged and this includes those who assisted financially to make the research and publication possible.
- This is ethically and morally important.
Ethical Considerations:
- Plagiarism and Fraud: The journal has the right to retract an article in the event of plagiarism or fraud. While accusations of plagiarism or fraud are taken seriously and addressed according to the Committee on Publication Ethics’ (COPE) decision-making schema, academic dishonesty is frowned upon in the academe and can lead to legal consequences.
- Conflicts of Interest: Authors should disclose any potential existing allegiances that could influence the research or analysis of results.
Publication Ethics:
- Transparency: The journal is committed to upholding honesty and integrity in the publication process and adheres to best editorial practices.
- Corrections and Retractions: Corrections to published articles are prompt, and retractions are effected when necessary.
Open Access Policy:
- Accessibility: The journal is open-access to ensure that research findings are freely accessible to the public as a way of promoting the propagation of knowledge.
